Time To Stop Rewriting History

I will begin this tirade with the statement - I am not Jewish. I am not anything but me. I believe that organized religion is a way to shackle people to a set of thought patterns and keep them controlled. I also think that religion has been hijacked by politicians and those with an axe to grind.

So to my point.

Schools in the UK have dropped teaching the holocaust and the history of the crusades. why? Because they don't want to offend Muslims who don't believe the holocaust ever happened and are offended by the idea of the crusades. I am outraged by this news and you should be too. It is time to stop rewriting history because some people or groups of society find it offensive and it is most certainly time to stand up to groups, any group, who tries to say that the Holocaust did not happen including the President of Iran who recently gathered groups of disenfranchised and Neo-Nazis at a 'conference' to examine the evidence for the holocaust in Tehran.

I'm sorry that Muslims might be offended by studying the history of the crusades. Tough cookies. If you don't study history how the hell do you learn from past mistakes? Or do we then ignore history and make the same mistakes over and over again?

But let's return to the holocaust. The holocaust is not even simply a Jewish issue. Its a fact, documented and well understood that six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated with the German and Russian peoples looking the other way!

When Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead. He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the track of history some b*stard will get up and say that this never happened'

Well one of those b*stards is the President of Iran and his twisted view of the world.

So - just to play my part in saying this did happen, take a long cold look at these photos taken in Germany by James Emison Chanslor, an Army Master Sergeant who served in World War II from 1942 until 1945. Go do what I did last year and visit the camps in Poland and weep that man could do this to fellow man.

And just remember - 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing' - Edmund Burke
